I think that's a good way. I don't want this episode. I started with a feeling. Maybe I'm gonna put I don't know. Like what kids say, why did you do that to your little brother? I don't know. I felt like it. Someone who's so strong in their emotions don't care if it's wrong, but they acted on. Welcome to Mars Transit Through Cancer. Very interesting. Now this one is happening right on the beginning of the eclipse and Leo. Hi everybody, welcome to another episode of the Astrology Lounge. I'm your host and astrologer Stephanie Powers coming at you live on Eclipse Day. How are we feeling out there? Tired? Excited? Wired, amped up, fatigued, confused, lost. Whatever you feel, just observe it. Don't feel like you have to act on it. Or make it this huge deal that you have to fix and change and switch because it's uncomfortable. So it means it's wrong and I have to do something. Surrender. Observe. It's a bad day, not a bad life. It's a really good day. I wish it could last forever, but it won't. So let me just soak it up and be so present. That's eclipse energy. Now, Mars, the planet of action, taking drive. Where we're ready to fight, where we're ready to move. Motivation. It's leaving Gemini and it's moving into Cancer. From August 11th or 12th, depending on where you are. Until September 29th, we welcome Mr. Mars in the sign of Cancer. So Mars is about to move into a different area of your birth chart and awaken it. Say, let's move here. Come on, let's get some motivation. Let's get the gears turning. Who cares what Saturn says? Come on, let's break free and just go. Now, of course, the other side of Mars could be this area of life becomes where you're really defensive. Cancer risings. Mars is moving into your first house. You could be very defensive with your individuality, with your body, with your peace. Capricorn risings, you could get really defensive and angry in relationships, marriages, partnerships. Okay. So this is Mars moving into cancer. It all started with a feeling. We act from a feeling. Feelings make us do such Mars things. Wow, I walk into this beautiful coffee shop and it's aesthetic and gorgeous. The employees look happy, and the coffee is so good. And look at those pastries. And I go to find the owner and go, How did you? Oh my god, how much work went into this? How did you create this? Well, I used to love the feeling of having coffee with my grandma every morning on the porch, and it inspired this entire place. Why'd you cheat on your wife? The feelings just weren't there. And so I acted on a feeling, an impulsive feeling that I shouldn't have, and I just fucked up. Feelings. It's such a you know, my Scorpio moon hides these things that to me are so deep, which is the intro song by Milano, Feeling. It all started with a feeling. You guys hear me say it all the time. Everything you look at around you is derived from a feeling. To me, Mars's transit through cancer is one of the most pivotal transits, even though scientifically, astrology would say that it is not happy in cancer. Mars is exalted, it doesn't move as well. Not exalted. Mars is in its fall in cancer because it's exalted in the sign of Capricorn, loves to execute, work hard, discipline, and it's in its fall in Cancer, meaning it doesn't like being here. It doesn't operate at its full potency. I'm looking at you, Mars and Pisces people, Mars and Taurus people, Mars and I got my Mars and Aries, but it's sitting in the 12th house, so my drive is really hidden. But don't mess with me, Mr. Virgo, your 100-mile runs, you just wait. It's over for you, bitches. No, I really we're gearing up to do the Havanero 100 race um the weekend of August 21st. So this is a race he has not conquered. We have tried multiple times and has not. This is, I don't listen, I don't get why they do it either, but I respect it and I love that people do, and I love being around the energy. But the Havanero 100 race here in Texas is strategically chosen the third weekend of August because historically, scientifically, statistically, this is the hottest weekend of the year in Texas. And they want these ultra runners to run 100 miles via six-mile loops over and over and over until they reach 100 miles in this heat. And uh this one really takes Mr. Virgo down. It's been it's been sad to watch. I hate it. I hate seeing him in pain, but it it it comes for him. Last time we went to this race, I think women, I think the top three, two of the top three were women, which I always loved to see because to me the female body is, you know, we have to work cyclically, but yeah. Mars and cancer. Mars will be in his first house while he does this run, which A, I think it's awesome. It's giving him the courage and the drive to train and push and have that Mars energy behind him. But B, Mars in the first house, Cancer Risings, uh, could be accidents, could be surgeries on the body, could be cuts on the body. Wear your helmet, wear your seatbelt, pay attention. Um, Mr. Virgo knows this because I come to him and say, don't push it. You you got him to help you, but you also got him to push you. So you just gotta bring balance and awareness to it, that's all. But this is Mars. This is Mars and Cancer, and I always like to look at things historically to understand the energy of it. Now, when I give you these dates, also remember that Jupiter was in a different sign, Saturn was in a different sign, uh, even Pluto was in a different sign for some of these dates. So it's not always a carbon copy of the past. I always want to tell people that so they don't catastrophize these dates or fear them, like, oh no, that's when my mom died. What's gonna happen? Completely same pot, different soup, if you will. So the last time we had Mars and Cancer was September 5th, 2024 to November 4th, 2024. March 26, 2023 to May 21st, 2023. So if you're here in the US, that was spring 2023 and fall 2024. So this was the last time we were acting from a feeling, or the last time we had to protect our feelings, or the last time something emotional may have been presented to us that we had to fight and push through. Sharpen the blade of emotion, if you will. So this Mars through Cancer transit is a little bit different. And the fact that it's starting before the eclipse or right on the eclipse, but it will be squaring Neptune, currently in Aries, and then eventually squaring Saturn, who is also in Aries. And so these are this, I'll give you those exact dates when we discuss them one by one. But August 16th to August 20th, coming right up. This is the square to Neptune, and then August 30th to September 8th, roughly, is the square to Saturn. And so it's almost like Mars's Mars's Mars initial entry into Cancer comes with a little turbulence, a little inner friction here. This is kind of coloring the eclipse portal for us. But then September 8th, all the way through September 29th, we get to feel a little more of the flow of Mars moving in Cancer. So, you know, eclipses they can be turbulent, they can be sudden, they can be shocking. Uh, Malika Semper, I attended her eclipse workshop this morning. It was awesome. She's so good. Just when I think I know it all, she really makes me feel like a student again. I learned so many things in her course, it was awesome. But um, surrender, don't catastrophize it because amazing things happen, as she was saying. But it's realignment, and you don't have to do anything, you just have to control how you react to whatever happens. Do you understand me? We can't control what happens to us, we can't control what other people do to us and behind our back. But all we can control is how we react to it, what we tolerate, how many times we tolerate, what our response to something is. That's all you can control. And if you're armed with that all knowing, you shouldn't worry about anything. I'll handle it when it comes. If that happens, that would suck. But you know what? I will respond to it maturely from a grounded place, or I'll understand that I have a Scorpio moon, and I or if you're a very emotional person, much like myself, you will understand. Give me 24 hours of rebound time to make a solid decision from a grounded emotion. Alright, am I really showing my emotional manifestor cards here? I've learned my lesson not to make impulsive emotional decisions that I regret later. This is that's exactly it though. I joke, but I'm serious. This is Mars and Cancer. Do not make impulsive Mars emotional cancer decisions that are gonna get you into some sticky situations shortly after, especially during an eclipse window, which like the entirety. The entire first few weeks of Mars and Cancer. Oh, baby baby, here we go. So we just left behind Mars and Gemini. Fighting with words, information, ideas. Mars and Gemini is fun until you're burnt out. Mars and Gemini is gather data, gather data, schedule the thing, show up to the thing, do the thing. But where's the heart? Where's the soul? I need a break. I want to go home. Okay, let's go into cancer. Mars and cancer fights for feelings, family, home, safety, belonging. And remember, I always tell you guys, don't sleep on cancer. Don't sleep on cancer because they are not just these soft teddy bears. You guys know how I uh pointed out how you can find a cancer person, cancer son, eh, not really a cancer moon, but cancer rising. Tattoos, baby, they've got sleeves, they've got their whole leg covered. I've tried this theory quite a few times, and you guys, if you if you're a cancer placement, you don't have tattoos, go ahead and tell me. I need more data. But I'm telling you, you see someone with a full sleeve or their entire leg covered, entire chest covered, go ask them. Hey, uh, late June or July. They'll be like, What? Your birthday. It's a good conversation piece. But don't sleep on them because these are passionate people. The richest man in the world, love or may hate him. He is a cancer. A lot of billionaires are cancers, they act from feelings, but they're cardinal. So, despite their reputation for being soft and nurturing, they're not passive, they initiate from an emotion. So, cancer usually needs an emotional reason to move. Mars in cancer says, I don't want to fight, I just I'm too tired for this. I want to go home. But wait a second, touch something or someone I love, and we got a problem. I love it. Cancer moons are like this too, like so protective over their family. Cancer moons tend to be my brother's got my back, or don't mess with my sister. My family is so protective over me. It's adorable. But why we astrologers say that Mars struggles in cancer is because it's just something about this doesn't feel right, and now I'm mad. And I'm either being really passive aggressive and not showing you or talking about why I'm angry and solving the problem or why I'm feeling this type of way. It's a passive aggressive energy, or it's impulsive anger, and it's whoa, I am so sorry I did that. I am so sorry. Uh I said that. I take that back. Can I take that back? Shoot. Um, cancer moons specifically are a placement that struggles with whoops, didn't mean to do that. Acted from uh emotional impulse, got a little sloppy with the emotions there. But whoo, I can imagine someone with a cancer moon and Mars and Cancer conjuncted. Whoa, spicy, passionate, courageous, but also please calm down. Mars wants to move straight forward. Let's go, charge. But cancer, what's cancer? It's a crab. How do crabs move? Sideways. So the Mars and cancer anger and action can become indirect. People may withdraw, stew on something, act from hurt feelings, or expect someone, there's my favorite cancer thing, expect someone else to understand why they're upset without actually saying it. You should just know better. You should just know how I feel. My goodness, being uh with Mr. Virgo going on seven years now, there's still moments where our Scorpio moons can't figure out why what did I do? Was it something I said? You gotta ask, you gotta talk. So, this is why one of the shadows of Mars going through cancer is passive aggressive energy. But Mars and cancer is not just weak Mars, that is missing out on its superpower. If I were to say all the empowered sides of this transit, it's being the protector, period. The mama bear, the real grizzly mama bear. Protecting home, what matters to you, what family values matter to you? Roots, motherhood. A lot of people could decide um to do to raise their children different. Or if they're trying to conceive, they may decide to pursue different fertility roads. Um, they're just they're ready to protect their kids, they're ready to protect their fertility, they're ready to protect their home, their emotional security, their private world. And I know what are you what are you thinking of? What might come up for you when I say those things? The current state of the world. We are so divided over these are my family values. Well, these are my chosen family's values, and so, yes, if we zoom out of the individuality for a second and move up to the collective, I do think this is a little hostile between my beliefs and my family, my home. I want to fight for it. It could be furthering division, or it could be, hey, we are all one human family and we all have the same values. Life should be enjoyable and safe. Should be safe to live in a in a country, in a neighborhood, yeah? Let's all band together and fight for that, right? So you put together the protector, cancer, with the warrior, Mars, and you get the guard dog, the mama bear. So maybe Mars and Cancer doesn't care about conquering the world and being a leader like a Leo or a Capricorn would, but threaten its family? Abuse its animals, its fur babies, I mean, sorry, don't get mad. Fur babies. You've activated them, right? So this transit can be incredible for protecting our peace, defending someone we love, defending ourselves, setting family boundaries is huge because it's cancer, especially with women in your family, sisters, mothers, aunts. Tackling projects around your house. Cancer is where you physically live, moving, selling a house, renovating, dealing with property. If you a lot of you guys have uh Airbnbs, it's so cool when I meet you guys and you're like, come stay at my Airbnb. I've got a whole list. This is incredible. You know, I never thought that I would have like so many online virtual friends of incredible people. Like I'm I'm almost intimidated by you guys because of how successful and intelligent and smart and open-minded so many of you are. Thank you, uh, as always, for trusting me with your astrology schooling. Advocating for children. Oh, I know we're about to go volunteer at the animal shelter to uh give a lot of supplies. Um won't say anything else about that. I volunteer with the Humane Society of the United States. Was an amazing opportunity. I just love animals. So there's my uh Mars and Cancer plug. What is yours? What do you want to protect? Is it children? Is it animals? Is it your home? God forbid, I hate the stories about neighbors from hell. It makes me so sad. I hope with Mars and Cancer, if that's your situation, you defend and protect yourself and set boundaries with this and figure that out because no one should have to live. God, the neighbor stories I've heard. Some people might reconnect with their roots, move home, have a conversation with the family member that's very soothing and healing. Or finally just do something about a situation that hasn't felt emotionally safe for you. So this transit strongly emphasizes protectiveness and domestic, meaning home life, family life, emotional life, domestic priorities. I can't get over that it enters cancer one day before tomorrow's 20-degree Leo solar eclipse. Well, as you guys listen to this, today's. The clarity is highly likely to come through. Like be so loud that you can't ignore it. Emotional safety, your people, your family, your body, your privacy, your roots, the life that really feels like yours. Your emotions aren't necessarily telling you what to attack, they're telling you what you care enough about to protect and defend. That's the most mature expression of Mars and Cancer that I can give you. So no more slamming cabinets, throwing glasses. What's wrong, babe? Nothing. Okay. We don't want no fighting. No fighting at home. Okay? If someone asks you or upset, say yes, I'd like to talk about it. Now, the only aspects that are activating this Mars and Cancer transit are the squares, the inner tension, the 90 degrees, to Neptune and Saturn and Aries. I mean, looking at the ephemeris now, I guess you could say as you listen to this, there's a square to Venus and Libra from now through Sunday, the end of the week. And those classic definitions of Mars squaring Libra or Venus is man versus woman, masculine versus feminine, uh, what I fight for versus what I value. Is the life you are currently living? Are you working a job that you'd feel valued or that you value the output you create, spending time, money, energy every single day to do? If not, we gotta go. Mars and Cancer, Venus and Libra, does my family support my marriage? Does my family not like my relationship, or vice versa? Is the relationship I'm in taking me away from my family or making me feel emotionally unsafe? Or does the relationship I'm in make me feel like not excited to go home? There's some tension, there's some squares, there's some wrinkles that need to be ironed out there that you can probably feel right now as you listen to this. So August 16th to August 20th, it's almost like the square to Venus is handing it off to Neptune right after. Neptune, fog, illusion, confusion. Mars, know what I want, when I want, where I want, let's go. So when you have action, drive anger shouting, go, and Neptune, fog, surrender, confusion, shouting, where? I mean, not shouting, whispering, but where. This could feel like trying to drive through fog. Mars wants to react and protect. And go, but Neptune makes it difficult to know what the actual threat is. So misdirected anger, assumptions, emotional projection, exhaustion, unclear motivations, savior, victim dynamics, or simply just fighting for something based more on a gut feeling than reality. This square for this time frame, I would say my favorite phrase should be used more frequently than not, which is hey, the story I'm telling myself is. Can you clarify or tell me the truth of that's what I would say? But the highest expression of the square, because squares are not all bad, they are not difficult. The highest expression of this square is compassionate action, right? What am I willing to fight for? Because I believe in it with every cell in my body. And with Neptune, proudly in Aries, we're learning an entirely new relationship with our identity, our courage, our individual will. Sometimes, as I've gotten older, I've definitely differentiated between the two. But that is a question that would get so many people hung up when I would say, How do you know what the difference is between your intuition and your anxiety? And the answer typically fell upon your intuition is so soft, you really gotta eliminate the pug snores and the background noise of life in order to hear it. Whereas your anxiety wakes you up at three o'clock in the morning and just bing, bing, bing, just goes and goes and goes and goes. So it's kind of cruel because you really want your intuition to be the louder voice in the room, but it's just not because it doesn't need to be. The truth doesn't need to be loud. The truth just is what it is, and it doesn't need to take up space or be seen because it's never changing, it's not going anywhere, it's the truth. Whereas anxiety is very immutable, it's all over the place. You can be anxious about this side of it one day, and then anxious about that side of it the other. It's all over the place. Your intuition, that inner voice stays the same. The answer's always the same. So that is the square between Neptune and Aries. So to get to know where that is on your exact chart, look at where Cancer and Aries rule, which leads us to the next Cancer Aries square. Who else has got beef during this transit? Well, it's Saturn, the high school principal, the police officer, the government official, the person in charge. Mars and Cancer is the unruly teenager that's like, you don't understand why I snuck out and got drunk. This is real love. And you're like, okay, you know what, you know what? It might actually be. But for now, you're still 16 years old. So get your ass back in the house. I always laugh with JL, Mr. Virgo, because I'm like, if we ever have a kiddo of our own, God bless them. Can you just can you guys just imagine being raised by twin Scorpio moons? My bonus boys are twin Pisces moons. Uh-huh. They both have no Pisces moons and I love it so much. But uh, it's funny because water moons, Cancer, Pisces, Scorpio, they all have a natural tendency to be more secretive, to not necessarily share how they're feeling because we have this internal wiring of am I feeling too much? Are my feelings too big, too scary? I I don't the emotional reaction of someone else is gonna make me feel emotionally overwhelmed, so I'm just not gonna share it. We're gonna turn in ice, little ice box. But I'm already starting to notice when the little Pisces Moon bonus boys are telling me one thing and dad another, when they're hiding something, or when they it's so cute, it's adorable at the at this stage for now, but um it's it's so just hilarious when I contemplate what it must be like to be raised by twin Scorpio moons. You're not getting away with anything, you're gonna be manipulated into living a good life. I was raised by an Aries moon. Does it show? I lived in a house with me, my mom, and my brother, and they have twin Leo moons. Oh my god. My mom with the rotating front door, just constantly having neighbors and friends in and out and board game nights, make your own pizza nights, holidays. She turned our house into a haunted house. Christmas, she became Santa Claus, and it was so much fun. And my brother just ate it up and would have his friends all come over. My Scorpio Moon, my Sagittarius son walked downstairs and we're like, this is hilarious. Wow, mom, wow, you literally look like a witch. How did you grow warts on your nose? Okay, you went all the way. All right. Um, there's too many people in my private space. I'm going back to my room and closing the door because I'm tired. And I don't know how you guys continue the music and the noise and the social interactions well into three o'clock in the morning. I no uh no. Never understood. They're very loud emotional reactions. God, I wish I knew astrology's little one. My mom and my brother, when they would get upset with each other, are so loud. Both of them have confessed regrets that they have of how they've treated each other under high emotional situations. I don't think I have ever, ever gotten into a fight with my mom where I have yelled at her or she has yelled at me, raised our voices, or said mean things. Ever. If anything, our issue has come from Stephanie I've laughed because I know now. Stephanie, why'd you hide that from me for so long? Stephanie, why how long have you been carrying this? Why didn't you tell me? Is it one out there raising a Scorpio moon? Does it is it hard? Can you just sense they're carrying something so heavy? And they don't tell you. Oh gosh. I still, that is still a problem for me. It's uh I just I don't want to burden people with my really heavy things, and then sometimes when I do release the floodgates, it I it scares people because of how in depth I describe what I'm feeling, and I then I don't like them worrying about me because I know I'm okay. I just need to describe how I'm feeling on such a Scorpio transformative my life is over type of way. So I always say, guys, children come with an instruction manual, their birth chart. I don't know how there are people raising children, little souls, without knowing their birth chart. I truly don't. Just raw dogging it. What? That's terrifying. Get to know them, save yourself a headache. Okay, August 30th to September 8th. Square, Saturn, and Aries. Mars says go. Saturn says stop. Neptune said, okay, all right, babe, where? Saturn says, No, you don't. You're not sneaking out. I don't think so, but I have a feeling this is real love. They're my soulmates. Saturn and Aries says, you don't even know yourself. You're currently in the lesson of learning who you are as an individual. What do you mean this is your this is what you want? No, it's not. Chill out, get a grip. This is classic gas pedal brake pedal. Mars and Cancer says, I need to do something about this now because I don't feel safe. Saturn and Aries says, uh-uh, not so fast. What's your plan? If you go make that decision and go carry that out, what are the consequences? Have you thought about that? I understand you are so emotionally worked up and charged right now, and you know what you have, you have the right to be, because that was very charged. But what are the long-term consequences for doing that action? Ugh. I wanna should I send this text? Just know. Between August 30th and September 8th, send a screenshot of what you want to send to a trusted, like Saturn type person in your life and say, should I send it? But if they're a Sagittarius, they're gonna say, fuck yeah, go! So be very mindful. If you have a Capricorn or a Scorpio friend, ask them. If you have an Aries friend, don't ask them. Although they have Saturn sitting on their sun, so they might actually be surprised you. This can manifest as frustration, delays, blocked action, responsibilities, getting in the way of what we feel like we want, authority conflicts, boundary conflicts, or realizing that emotional reactions have really serious consequences. So Saturn, the square to Saturn and Aries isn't necessarily saying no, don't act on that feeling. It's saying prove that this is the right action to take from that feeling. I just want receipts. I want to see the research. I want a PowerPoint presentation on the two ways that this could turn out. And I want you to tell me if you're okay with both, because we don't know how it's gonna turn out if you act from that feeling. This is where the sequence gets fascinating. Neptune to Saturn. Mars enters cancer and essentially encounters first. What are you actually fighting for? Get clear on where this feeling is coming from. Push through the fog. Then, now that you found it, are you willing to do the work required to protect it, or are you willing to do make the tough decision and deal with the consequences that come after? Like you're ready to do that? I always use divorce as an analogy just because I have real world experience with it. And I was in my 20s, my Saturn returned when I had a divorce. And a lot of times you think, well, once I leave the relationship, then I'm free, then life is good, and I'm living my truth, and everything just falls into place, right? Wrong. That's when the real work starts. Oh well, if I leave that job, that is just so then my dream job falls into my lap, and I make so much money and I'm famous and I love myself. It's like, no, that's when the real work starts. And so that's kind of what this sequence is uh it's speaking on heavily. Neptune dissolves the fantasy, Saturn tests the structure. So this entire early Mars and cancer story uh could be summarized as don't react just because you have a gut feeling, but figure out what the feeling is trying to communicate or trying to protect within you, and then build something strong enough to protect it or move towards it, ready for whatever comes from it. Right? And because it's Aries and Cancer, these are two cardinal signs. This is cardinal tension. Both signs want to initiate, start something. But one says, What do I need? and the other says, What do we need to feel safe? The Aries placement says, I want a new beginning and I want individuality. But the cancer placement says, But are you okay with what home will look like after this? What your physical living space might look like after this, or how you'll feel emotionally inside your inner home after this. It's like individual autonomy versus emotional or family, familial security. And eventually, as Mars gets farther into cancer and through September, the story changes. So it softens. It does soften. Where's the rest of my dates? Oh, yeah. Right around the middle of the square to Saturn and pat a little past September 8th. So, like early to mid-September, there will be a sextile, an opportunity to the Sun and Virgo. So this kind of completes the story of Mars' transit through cancer, and tough decisions need to be made, potentially, or just decisions that require doing things differently. I don't like to use the word tough. And then there's an opportunity presented to really get our life in order. Sun and Virgo, Virgo season. There is an opportunity to have a completely different daily routine, different reality, gathering details, a new way of living more healthily, holistically.

So let me double-check everything. Guys, that's what I've got for Mars and Cancer. Remember to reflect back on the past dates that this happened and to see where cancer rules in your chart. Um, here we go. Let's just do some rapid fire. Aries rising, this is your fourth house. No more fighting at home. Take action on where you want to live. Super simple. Taurus rising, this is your third house. Use your voice. It's got fire behind it now. Just don't automatically assume all the time that your feelings are correct. Be willing to hear someone else out. Gemini rising, this is your second house. Earned income, possessions, self-worth. You guys might be selling something, buying something, or you may be having conversations about money, sharing money. Just watch out for impulsive emotional spending, especially when you're stressed. Because Uranus is going through your first house. Cancer rising, it's your first house.
